On a yoga retreat in Thailand, Laura and Fred hope to get away from it all. Instead they find themselves on a surreal journey through calm seas and tsunamis. An outrageous adventure performed through dazzling live action, video, shadow magic, and songs. They encounter tourists and terrorists, Buddhist monks and soldiers, gods and demons, nobodies and themselves.
Inspired by Jorgensen and Curchack’s own vacation to Thailand, Golden Buddha Beach explored topics of escapism, western influences, and the intersection of religion and politics.
