Glamour by John O’Keefe

“Truth is trying to talk and each of us overhears something that we wanted to say to the others. It doesn’t mean we’re out of danger, that there can’t be accidents. We have to be aware of what we hear in ourselves. The hearsay.”

A Regional Premiere directed by Katherine Owens

May 15 – June 8, 2002 at Undermain Theatre

In the summer of 1939, on the eve of World War II, British poet Robert Graves and his longtime lover, American Poet Laura Riding, fled Europe for the safety of the United States. Fascinated by Riding’s work, Schuyler Jackson, a strugglign writer, invites the bohemian couple to join them at the New England farm where he lives with his wife, Kit. As the charismatic dictators of Europe roll across the Continent, a subtle campaign of language, desire, and fascination launches in the lonely landscape of rural New England.
